Migrator

Comments Migrator brings source content and its associated comments into Discourse, preserving them together as a topic and its discussion. It requires DiscussionBridge (DB), which makes and maintains the ongoing connection between the source content and its continuing Discourse discussion.

How it fits

Source content.
Continuing discussion.

The platform adapter supplies the source content and identity. DiscussionBridge creates or resolves its corresponding topic and maintains the permanent relationship. Comments Migrator brings the associated comments into that topic as replies and manages the migration job.

DiscussionBridge and the adapter continue maintaining the connection after import.

What must survive?

Share your publishing platform and version, comment system, approximate volume and what must be preserved. Examples involving replies, authorship, dates, moderation or content that has moved are especially useful.
